Intel ‘Canoe Lake’ prototype, Ultra-thin Netbook
Taking advantage of the Computex 2010, Intel unveiled a new platform: the Atom Canoe Lake. Aimed primarily at market netbooks and tablets, the latter has many advantages, including lower consumption and increased compatibility. What stand against Qualcomm and its SnapDragon while allowing manufacturers to offer ultra-thin Netbook.

Consisting of a processor and a chipset Lincroft Whitney Point, Oak Trail platform is pretty amazing since it consumes 50% less energy than Pine Trail, while providing increased performance. It is well capable of playing 1080p video correction. Note also that this platform will fully support SATA ports and an HDMI output.
Compatible with all systems (Windows, Google Chrome OS, Google Android, Meego), it should also allow manufacturers to offer machines much finer. One to get the MacBook Air for laptop paunchy.
Scheduled for release in 2011.
