Apple has made some adjustments to the firmware which launched exclusively for the Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 , this firmware is basically similar to any other model of the iPhone even more oriented to what is offered by Verizon Wireless.


For example, Verizon already offers the possibility to create a hotspot (access point Wi-Fi) from the iPhone to share it with up to 5 external devices such as laptops, PC, Mac or any other device. Here is probably the difference with the firmware of your iPhone.


The iOS 4.2.6 firmware, build number 8E200. One of the major differences between iOS 4.2.6 and the current iOS 4.2.1 for the GSM iPhone 4 is the Personal Hotspot feature, through which up to 5 devices can connect to the internet using the wireless network the iPhone 4 creates.

This firmware is only compatible with the Verizon CDMA iPhone 4.
