This Wednesday 27th the Regional Tourism Forum – Edition of Agulhas Negras will be held. The event is organized by the Secretary of State for Tourism (Setur-RJ) and the Tourism Corporation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TurisRio), with the support of the City Hall. During the event, the resumption of tourism activities and the potential of Rio de Janeiro’s communities will be discussed. Requests can be made via the link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeLZ8vQo62rCdLbaW8sTMj7-fUhavr8P_p-z_Tf7Qh2Rripaw/viewform.

The meeting will be held at Catre Convenções, in Casa da Pedra, at Avenida Casa das Pedras, 646, in Penedo and will bring together municipal and state public leaders and the private sector from several inland cities. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to the Secretary of State for Tourism, Sávio Neves, the event is one of the initiatives of the “Turismo RJ + Perto” program, directed by Setur-RJ, which seeks to integrate and unite tourism development efforts during this period of resumption of Activities in line with the progress of vaccination and in the post-pandemic period. “In addition to lectures and debates, the campaign also includes cultural presentations and an area where municipalities present their gastronomy, their crafts and their culture. Setur-RJ/TurisRio teams will be available to assist with matters related to Cadastur and the state crafts program, among others,” he says.

City Tourism Minister Denilson Sampaio says Itatiaia has already demonstrated its potential for the economic recovery of the post-Covid hotel and accommodation segment, with occupancy rates exceeding 80% during the Holy Week holidays. “One of the regions that emerged in the ABIH pre-holiday survey was Itatiaia, which led the way with 91.20% in hotel and guest house occupancy and 91.50% in Tiradentes holidays. Our goal is to structure the segment more and more, which creates jobs, income and attracts investments,” says the secretary.

Denilson explains that this is the 6th Regional Tourism Forum organized by the Rio de Janeiro state government. This edition takes place for the first time in the Black Needles region, which, in addition to Itatiaia, also brings together the cities of Resende, Porto Real and Quatis. The organizers expect around 1,000 guests from all regions and trade visitors to take part in the event. “At the forum we will have presentations and discussion tables on topics relevant to the development of the region’s tourism sector, with the participation of important names in the sector throughout Rio de Janeiro. Each community in the region will have a stand to showcase their tourist attractions, structures and existing itineraries in their cities. We will also host the exhibition of products made by local artisans and producers, appreciating even more the tourist wealth, its gastronomy and its handicrafts. We will have an exclusive space for the presentation of cultural manifestations such as music, theater and dance by local artists who work closely with tourism development,” informs Denilson.

For Marcelo Carrasco, President of Conretur Agulhas Negras, the forum is an opportunity to bring together industry leaders to discuss proposals for the safe resumption of tourism in the region and to present solutions to the obstacles that still hinder the progress of tourism, including those available Identify resources for investing in structuring projects. “Conretur, an entity that has been working in the field of regional tourism since 1997, presents itself as a partner of the event because it believes in the proposal for tourism regionalization according to the guidelines of the Tourism Regionalization Program of the Ministry of Tourism. which was based on recommendations from the World Tourism Organization WTO and adopted this policy with a focus on regional development in 2004. The main goal of the program is to support the structuring of tourist destinations, management and promotion of tourism in the country,” he emphasizes. Marcelo will moderate the panel “Tourism as a Vector of Economic Development in Agulhas Negras: Reflecting on New Paths and Opportunities” starting at 4:45 p.m.

The town hall of Resende will be represented with a stand and take part in the forum

The Town Hall of Resende will take part in the event through the Magistrate for Industry, Commerce and Tourism. The municipal administration will have a stand at the event organized by the Secretary of State for Tourism of Rio de Janeiro. A series of lectures imparting knowledge about tourism in the region and a stage for various cultural presentations are planned during the forum.

For the Community Secretary for Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Tiago Diniz, attending the forum is of great value to the community. “The Fluminense Regional Tourism Forum is an extremely important event that promotes a closer relationship between the municipal administrations and allows us to exchange experiences.
