Plaza Premium Group and Visa recently announced a partnership to build the The world’s first Visa airport loungeat Guarulhos Airport, exclusively for Visa Infinite credit card holders.
The new space in Terminal 3 of Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), the second busiest airport in Latin America, promises a new airport lounge experience for travelers with Visa cards.
The partnership will bring together the expertise of Plaza Premium Group and Visa to offer a unique lounge experience at Guarulhos Airport, to improve the satisfaction of passengers waiting for their flight and to offer the largest possible number of travelers an innovative to allow travel.
In this way, Visa will leverage Plaza Premium Group’s expertise in airport lounge development and management, from room design project to gastronomic concepts to operational efficiency, to improve service according to passengers’ needs.
For Visa Infinite cardholders, the development of this world’s first Visa airport lounge serves as a key environment for airport hospitality in the region’s largest aviation hub.
As one of the busiest airports in Latin America, Guarulhos International Airport handles more than 40 million passengers. According to the “Brazil Air Passenger Traffic: Domestic Flight” study published by the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism in 2021, the country is among those that have recovered the fastest in the travel segment, especially domestic destinations, with more than 3 million passengers registered in March last year alone .
Visa, on the other hand, is seeing an increase in spending on e-payments in the Latin America region. According to Visa’s Financial Literacy Barometer survey, Brazil ranked first for strong knowledge of credit cards, debit cards, banking and other related finance topics.

Visa Airport Companion is a Visa app that, in partnership with the Dragon Pass program, offers access to more than 1,000 lounges around the world, discounts in restaurants, shops, services and more in 140 countries and at more than 450 airports.
In addition to this technology, consumers who have access to the new lounge will also have access to a travel services technology platform, which will be implemented by Plaza Premium Group to offer an integrated digital solution to enhance the experience in the area, delivery, to improve services and operational efficiency.
